Step into a world of culinary delight with this New Orleans Fantasy Cooking Experience! Relax and get acquainted with your classmates as you embark on a journey through Cajun and Creole cuisine. Don your aprons and prepare to learn new recipes, cook amazing dishes, and savor the fruits of your labor. In this hands-on cooking class, each student is taught professional techniques, the secrets of seasonings, and the art of preparing selected recipes. As you immerse yourself in the flavors of Louisiana's world-famous cuisine, you'll also delve into the rich history behind these iconic dishes. You'll begin the class by learning the best-kept secrets for authentic New Orleans cooking. Discover the importance of the Cajun Holy Trinity, and start cutting and prepping to make the best New Orleans cuisine you’ve ever tasted. Once the Cajun Holy Trinity is all chopped, take a break and enjoy your first glass of wine. With everything in its place (mise en place), start the Dark Roux for the gumbo. After the gumbo, move on to the light Roux for the Shrimp Etouffee. Once your meal is properly plated, it's time to dine. The last part of the class, and possibly your favorite, will include teaching you how to make Bananas Foster. You’ll be shown a fool-proof way to make this dessert that is sure to impress your friends and family. The class is located in New Orleans’ French Quarter, known for its amazing food, providing you with the tips you need to make three dishes in your own kitchen.
