Description

Explore Oak Alley Plantation, a National Historic Landmark dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history its inhabitants left behind, with an emphasis on its time as a working sugarcane plantation. Walk under the iconic Allée, and leave with a richer, more powerful understanding of this plantation’s history. Then cruise Louisiana’s Swamp and Bayou. Learn the mysterious culture of the Cajun and how they adapted to the waterways, wildlife, and weather of Louisiana. Cruise the waterways in a safe pontoon boat with a native of the area. Get up close and personal with some of the wildlife that inhabit the swamp. Take in the beauty of Mother Nature while you are surrounded by moss-draped Cypress trees.

Guests are picked up and dropped off at their hotel, within a 2 mile radius of the French Quarter. If the guest is not staying within the 2 miles of the French Quarter, there is a meeting spot in front of St. Louis Cathedral Jackson Square for pick up and drop off. Guests will be driven for 1 hour and 15 minutes to Oak Alley Plantation. Guest will have about 3 hours to explore the national historic landmark. Visitors are invited to, walk under the iconic Allee of Oak Trees, and tour the big house. You will have the opportunity to have lunch at the restaurant or deli. Then you will board back on the bus and take a 35-minute ride up the highway for a swamp tour. Once we arrive at Cajun Pride Swamp Tours, you will board a pontoon boat to take a 90-minute tour through the swamp where you will learn about the many species of wildlife residing there. You will have the opportunity to take plenty of pictures of the moss-draped Cypress trees in their majestic beauty.
