In these neighborhoods (Vieux Carré, Faubourg Tremé, Fauboug Marigny, etc.) French and Creole were the dominant languages until the 1950s. The tour ends in the American quarters (Lakeview, Carrolton, Garden District, etc.) founded in the early 19th century.
